INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION

This is a history of my family as recollected researched and compiled by the author, Leonard Bryce Fall. I have undertaken to write this family history in order that my children, grandchildren and other family descendants might know something about their family history. This account is not expected to be complete or comprehensive. It rather consists of information extracted from the sources described below and from my own recollections of events and stories related to me by relatives and friends. I assume full responsibility for any errors and omissions of significant facts.

This history is centered primarily about my own family since a full treatment of the family history is beyond my capability. The account of my own family and my parent's family is organized along geographical as well as chronological lines since that seems to be the easiest way for a reader to trace the movements and activities of my parent's and my own family. For the earlier years of my grand parents and their ancestors the information is organized along the ancestral lines since much less is known about their activities and migratory movements in America as the western lands were being opened for settlement. Most of the information concerning these early years of my ancestors was taken from two primary sources. These two sources are "THE FAMILIES OF: FALL, KIDD AND MARSHALL" by Nettie May (Fall) Zamos and "THE JARNAGIN COLLECTION" by Glen Susong Clark, Clark Publications, Indianapolis. Much of the more recent information came from personal discussions with Alpha Omega Fall, Beulah Land (Fall) Ormiston, Mildred Beatrice (Fall) Eads, Alice (Laudenburger) Catron, Ruth and Bernice Fall and my grand mother Willie Florence (Coffman) Jarnagin. I remember all four of my grandparents, but only in their latter years. Much of the information about the latter years of my grandparents comes from my own memory of events and stories related to me augmented by data from obituaries, letters and newspaper clippings.

I wish to express my appreciation to my daughter Ellen, my son Leonard Jr., and my wife Shirley for their help in gathering, reviewing, proof reading, and maintaining a data base of family information in my talking home computer. Without their assistance this account would not have been possible.
